Start.gg is incorporating some internal changes in order to prevent bad actors from creating and publishing tournament pages with the intent to host phishing links, potential malware, and illegal content.

Performing certain actions on start.gg a number of times will give you a "verified" flag internally. Only "verified" users can set a tournament page to be discoverable via our search feature and third-party search engines (Google, Bing, etc.).

If you are unable to publish your page as public, this means that your account is considered "unverified" currently.

However, you can always share the tournament page to your community via a direct link. You can use this link to share your tournament to Discord, Facebook, Twitter, etc. Anyone can access and register for your page via this link.

You can publish your tournament as link only via the admin dashboard. Once published, just copy the URL from the tournament homepage to send out. Check out this article for more info on publishing.

There are a number of different ways to become "verified" in our system, but the main way is to just keep using the website! Once you finish hosting your first tournament to 100% completion, you should be able to make your next tournament page discoverable.

If you have any questions or issues, please reach out to the support team via the blue chat bubble or email us at support@start.gg.
