Round settings allow you to control how and when players in online events play their matches. These controls include:
The maximum number of games required to complete a match
The start time of each round
The amount of time before players are disqualified for not checking in
The amount of time before results submitted by a player are auto-confirmed
The amount of time before a match ends in a tie (Swiss and Round Robin-only)
Per-Round Settings
You can configure Per-Round Settings on the Brackets page. The exact location depends on the bracket format being used:
Single or Double Elimination: The Edit Round Settings button above each round
Round Robin: The cog icon above each round on the right sidebar
Swiss: The Edit Round Settings button near the top of the page, or the cog icon above on the right sidebar
Custom Schedule: The Edit Round Settings button next to each round
Matchmaking (Ladder): The Round Settings button at the top of the page
Note: Per-Round Settings cannot be configured until you have players in your bracket. However, you can configure Default Round Settings on the Event Settings page.
Default Round Settings
Default Round Settings allow you to configure to every round in your event:
The Default Round Settings apply to every round without per-round settings.
Per-round settings override the default settings. Use the "Revert to Default Settings" button to go back to the default settings for that round.
Default Round Settings are copied with your Event Setup settings when copying tournaments.
Default Round Settings can be found right next to the per-round settings or on the Event Settings page.
Best Of / Total Games
The Best Of or Total Games setting controls how many games are required to complete a set:
Best Of: Only plays the majority of games needed to win. This may mean not all possible games are played, such as a 3-0 in a Best of 5.
Note: Best Of and First To are the same. For example, a Best of 5 and First to 3 are equivalent. You can configure up to a Best of 19 (First To 10).
Total Games: All games are played no matter what, such as a 5-0 when set to 5 Total Games.
Start Time & Duration
A round's Start Time controls when players are called for their matches:
Once a match is called, players are notified to check in and start playing.
Start Time and Duration are optional. Without them, matches are called as soon as they are available after the bracket starts.
Setting a Duration automatically sets the start time for the following rounds. For example, setting a 30 minute Duration schedules each round 30 minutes apart.
By default, the start time of your first round will be the same as your overall event's start time. If you are using Waves, each wave's start time will be used instead.
DQ Timer
Controls the amount of time before players are disqualified for not checking in:
The DQ Timer starts when players are called for their match.
If a Start Time is not set, the DQ Timer starts after both entrants are determined.
The DQ Timer is optional. Without it, players will not be disqualified for not checking in.
Verify Timer
Controls the amount of time before results submitted by a player are auto-confirmed:
After each player submits a game or match result, the other player can verify or dispute the result.
If the other player does not verify within the time set, the result is auto-confirmed.
The verify timer is only used when player reporting is enabled, where it is required.
Updating Other Rounds
When saving your round settings, you can select the following options to also apply them to other rounds:
Update Following Rounds: Updates every following round in the same pool.
Update Following Losers Rounds: Updates every following Losers Bracket round in the same pool (Double Elimination only).
Update All Pools in Wave: Updates every pool within the same Wave.
